Disney Attractions have Stories

They’d say, ‘I want to go on the Jungle Cruise, the Mark Twain Riverboat, the Pirates of the Caribbean…but I don’t want to go on any of the rides!’ I figured out that rides meant the whip or the Ferris wheel at amusement parks. The public recognized these were different. They all had stories.

Photos and Videos of Lucky the Dinosaur

In 2003, Lucky the Dinosaur was on trial at Disney’s California Adventure. Mouseplanet has photos and video of it (scroll past the pictures for videos). Lucky is the only free movement audio animatronic that I know of. As you can see, he was capable of walking around the park and interacting with the crowds.

Lucky has since made his home at the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World. This video shows him there interacting with the cast members.

The Unofficial Walt Disney Imagineering Page

The Unofficial Walt Disney Imagineering Page (TUWDIP?) has lots of great information on Walt Disney Imagineering. For those who don’t know, this group is responsible for attraction creation through all the Disney parks. This is the uber cool position to have within Disney that many cast members aspire to. This site has a blog - last updated 2/28 :( - a FAQ, WDI art and attraction posters and much more. Spend some time here, you won’t be disappointed.
