Rare Walt Disney World Wall Map Reproduction

Rare Walt Disney World Wall Map From Contemporary and Polynesian ResortI previously blogged about a Vintage Disney World Map I found on Widen your World. I asked for more info on the map as I hadn’t seen it before and it looked very interesting. Quite a few readers chimed in with comments saying it was from the Contemporary and Polynesian resorts. Now, if you are willing to be the high bidder, you can have a replica for your house. Here are some details:

DisneyShopping.com Referral Program

DisneyShopping Referral Program
I received this email today asking me to get my friends and family to shop at DisneyShopping.com. If they take advantage, they will receive free shipping on orders of $50 or more and I’ll receive $10 to spend at DisneyShopping.com. Clicking on Get Started takes me to a web page that asks me to choose my email program. Apparently, they will allow you to upload your contact list directly from your email and send a personalized message to each person on your list. Very clever.

1973 Vintage Robin Hood Record

1973 Disneyland Records Robin Hood Story and Songs
One of my all time favorite Disney Movies is the 1973 animated film, Robin Hood (IMDB Link). I’ve always loved the different animals they portrayed as different characters. It was the definition of a kid’s movie.

I was stoked when a relative gave me an original 1973 copy of a Disneyland Record, Robin Hood: Story and Songs. The vinyl jacket has fabulous pictures from the movie that I just have to share.

Unfortunately, I don’t own a record player so I can’t comment on the content of the record. The songs listed are:

  • Whistle Stop (Roger Miller)
  • OO-DE-LALLY (Roger Miller)
  • Love (Floyd Huddleston & George Burns)
  • The Phony King of England (Johnny Mercer)
  • Not in Nottingham (Roger Miller)

As the back cover says (view after the break), the music was conducted by George Burns. Narration and Dialogue Directed by Pete Renoudet with the assistance of John Wood and Rose Mussi.

To see the back cover and actual vinyl, make sure you read the full post by clicking on “Continue Reading”.

Disney’s California Adventure’s Chance to Shine Video

Austin wrote in to ask:

Do you happen to have a video or sound file of the short-lived streetshow at California Adventure called “Chance to Shine?”

The only place I know to get this video is on the DVD A Look Back at DCA Entertainment. I don’t own and haven’t seen this DVD. Does anyone have a review of it they’d like to share?

Disney’s Character Warehouse Outlet Store

I’m in Las Vegas this week and had the chance to go to the Disney Character Warehouse Outlet Store. I knew it was different from the Disney Stores found in many malls, but I was amazed at the differences. The Disney Stores are owned and run by the Children’s Place. The Disney Character Warehouses are owned and run by Asset Management and Sales. The Disney Stores feature merchandised designed for retail stores. The Character Warehouses feature merchandise directly from Disney parks.

Much of the merchandise there today was from the 50th celebration. This merchandise is to outdated to sell in the parks, but is still great for enthusiast and collectors. And the pricing was awesome. I saw Mickey polo shirts for $9.99 and hats for $4.99. They had Disney Pins, plushes, costumes, autograph books, and much more.

There are only a handful of these stores around. You can find a complete listing on AMS’ site.

Walt Disney World Buttons

Reader David has just returned from a trip to Disney World and pass on photos of these two buttons. One features Cinderella and Prince Charming and reads, “Where Dreams Come True” and “Just Married!” The other is the birthday button which also reads, “Where Dreams Come True” and obviously, “Happy Birthday.”
