The Magic Kingdom Through Tilt-Shift
A tilt-shift lens is a special camera lens that puts the edges of the photo out of focus while maintaining focus in the center of the photo. The effect causes everything to look small. Great video!

This is the type of content that I started this blog to post. The amount of time and effort that Kennedy put into this quilt can easily be seen but I’m sure the pictures don’t do justice to seeing it in person.

Characters in the Dream Along with Disney stage show have been upgraded to have articulated heads including blinking eyes and moving mouths. This is awesome. A new level of realism to stage shows.

Readers of Boing Boing will have already seen this, but a group called, “DaVinci’s Notebook,” which is no longer together, recorded this funny gospel song about Disneyland. The link to the MP3 is found on this “Fun Disney Stuff” page and be accessed here. If you’re curious about the lyrics, read them here.

I’ve previously blogged about the suite at the top of Cinderella’s Castle, but more pictures have emerged. The suite is one of the many prizes of the year of a million dreams. Lucky winners will be allowed to stay in the suite over night – yes in the middle of the Magic Kingdom. One of the Inside the Magic listeners found and posted pictures from the suite. It looks very magical!

According to Ron:
My favorite ride of all at Tomorrowland is Buzz Lightyear?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Space Ranger Spin. The ride is also a giant arcade game as you help Buzz fight Emperor Zurg. To roll up a high score, aim for the top of the volcano, the Z on the robot?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s left wrist, the bottom of the batteries in the battery room, the worm-like creature, and the spider. A cast member also told me that if you hit one of the targets spinning high up along the route it will jump your score up to the maximum possible.
BTW, I’m not sure if this hold true for the version in Disneyland.

Jeff, from the Meandering Mouse podcast, has the audio from the Monster, Inc. Laugh Floor attraction in episode #44. Disney Imagineers recently announced they will delay the opening of this attraction because they are still tweaking it (making it funnier).

A photo has been released from the suite in Cinderella’s castle. This suite is being built as part of the Year of a Million Dreams celebration. One lucky guest and their family will be invited to spend the night in the suite each night. After the year is over, it will most likely be used as part of the Disney World wedding packages.

The creator of the awesome Firefox web browser has a nice post today about his recent experience at the Magic Kingdom. He does a good job articulating what makes Disney so special and how fast you can be snapped out of it. It’s a nice quick read.

Here’s another game for gift giving this holiday that I found when looking at the Pirates game from the previous post. I’m not sure how fun it is, but here is the description from Amazon:
Disney has always been masterful at two key initiatives: producing memorable children’s entertainment and marketing that same entertainment with overwhelming force. In this promotional board game, players attempt to move a family around a Disney theme park, stopping at various points along the way including Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Frontierland, and the Country Bears. Mickey, Donald, Peter Pan, Snow White, the Lion King characters, and various other familiar characters make appearances. As a game, it may deepen a child’s love for their Disney brand friends or simply reinforce the feelings that child already has. The game is also a bit complex and may be too tricky for younger children although if they play on a team with older kids or adults, they should be fine. Parents considering this game should be prepared to answer the question “when can we go to a REAL Disney park?”
