I can’t quite figure out what is going on here, but it appears that someone has collected a ton of home videos from various parks and streaming them 24×7 online. The video quality isn’t the best but there is uniqueness and realness about them.
Do you want to see the myriad of dreams that Disney has been giving away as part of the “Year of a Million Dreams” campaign. Take a look at the catalog. Thanks Disney Dean for the tip.
Disney Parks have released a Snow Blog in conjunction with their advertising campaign featuring the well traveled snow man. On the home page you can play one of the advertisements, view a few of the Snowman’s posts and send an e-greeting. There are eight different snowman e-greetings that you can watch and send. Fun stuff!
Chris Barry has posted a review of the PhotoPass service and his unexpected encounter with the MoviePass service. The PhotoPass service allows you to keep track of every time a Disney photographer takes your picture without having to manage those little white cards they give or go back to the designated photo location to purchase them. Instead, they supply you with a credit card that the photographers scan each time they take your picture. After you get home, you can review them online at DisneyPhotoPass.com and order those you want. This all sounds similar to when I take the kids to JC Pennys to get their holiday photos taken.
When Chris went to log in after his recent trip, he found the option for MoviePass. Here he could upload photos as well as use those that Disney photographers had taken to mix together a nice DVD that he could order. I won’t go into detail as Chris does a very good job with screenshots and descriptions.
Unfortunately, MoviePass is not available again until 2007 - must have been a trial thing. However, it sounds like they’ve updated PhotoPass so you can upload your own pictures and use those from the photographers to mix your own photo book - very iPhoto ish. I’m excited to try it out as my trip is only 3 days away! If anyone else has experience with either services, I’d love to hear about it.
This is a TV commmercial for Hong Kong Disneyland. You can see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale and Pluto decorating the park in Christmas attire.
Are you traveling to the Disney Parks with kids under 5? If so, you need to check out the Disney Magical Beginnings website. It has a fun memory style game that delayed this post by at least a half hour (my three year old wouldn’t give me back my computer). They also have a link to a page for Disneyland and a link to a page for Disney World that shows all the attractions, shows and restaurants that are well suited for toddlers.
On October 3rd I posted about the free Disney Parks DVD that you can order from Disney. I received it today (almost 2 months later). It has the following menu layout:
Disneyland California Resort
Main Show
Recent Additions
Vacation Planning
Walt Disney World Resort Florida
Main Show
Recent Additions
Water Parks & More
Cool Stuff for Kids
Grown-up Fun
Vacation Planning
Planning your Vacation
Disney World Planning
Disneyland Planning
Traveling with Little Ones
Other Disney Vacations
Disney Vacation Club
Disney Cruise Line
Adventures By Disney
The DVD is jam packed with fun video. It’s entertaining to watch. Each video shows well produced scenes from the park quickly highlighting the attractions. The traveling with little ones shows all the attractions that kids under 5 would enjoy as well as character breakfasts, swimming pools & lodging and other activities they will enjoy. It’s an awesome DVD for free. I highly recommend you check it out even if you frequent the parks.
If you go to the Official Disney Parks website, you can click on the video link on the lower left and see a couple of videos for the Year of a Million Dreams.
Disney is offering a free Disney Parks DVD that showcases Disneyland and Disney World. As an added bonus, there is a small video that plays on the order page. I’ve ordered mine, what are you waiting for?
There are a total of 5 Disney castles located at the Disney parks; Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland. This posts shows a picture of each and gives the name. When I started this, I was under the impression that they were each named after a Disney Princess but instead I found they are all named after either Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.
Click on the pictures to see a larger version.
Disneyland - Sleeping Beauty Castle
Magic Kingdom - Cinderella Castle
Tokyo Japan - Cinderella Castle
Disneyland Paris - Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (literally “the Castle of Sleeping Beauty”)
I create a new page that links to each Disney Map from each Disney Park at each Disney Resort. I hope you find these as useful as I do. It will become the third regular link on the right along with the Disney Links page and the Recommend Stuff page.
I found it interesting that each Disney Destination site was different in design and in functionality. If you cruise some of these maps, you will find that very few resorts present them in the same fashion. In fact, the best maps I could find of the Disneyland Resort in California were actually PDFs. Besides for these three maps, all the rest link to pages on the particular resort’s site.
