I don’t think all of you will like some of these photos, but some of them are very good. These artists took some liberty with the image and likenesses of Mickey Mouse. Appreciate it as art.
Disney Insider had an interesting bit of trivia to pass on today. Apparently there is a classic cartoon entitled “Donald’s Nephews” where we get to meet the sister of Donald Duck, the mother of Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Her name…Dumbella.
The Destination Series has featured cities like London, Venice and San Francisco. The newest painting will feature Reno’s neighbors to the West, Sacramento. According to the SacBee.com, the painting is expected to do well in the Japanese market as they are found of old American trains. It was painted by Manny Hernandez, a former Sacramentan.
I can’t quite tell if there is something morally wrong with this post, but FanPop.com has a post that lists the top 10 hottest Disney babes. Hint: Number one is not a Disney Princess.
Disney has just launched a new website promoting 7 new DVDs including “The Adventures of Oswald.” No pricing or release dates were announced. I would imagine that the Oswald DVD will include the 26 shorts that were created between 1927 and 1928.
When I was a kid, I had a playschool record player that was all nice and bundled into a plastic case. When I closed the lid and latched it, it was like having a little briefcase. I used to have all sorts of little 45 records that were read-along with books. One of my favorites was Lonesome Ghosts. You would set the record needle at the beginning and every time you heard a chime, you turned the page.
I don’t know how many of you remember the Gummy Bears cartoon, but I sure do. This intro brought back all kinds of memories of it. I didn’t realize it was a Disney cartoon.
This is a very interesting webpage. This Russian site has taken still frames from various movies and compared them to other movies and found that many of the exact scenes are the same. The difference is obviously with the detail. I guess this lets them focus more on the story and less on the actual animations. Anyway, give it a look as it is very cool to see these frames side by side - like Mowgli from Jungle Book in the same poses as Christopher Robins in a Pooh movie.
