This is my favorite video on Disneyland. It’s long, but I enjoy every minute of it.
In July 1956, the five-member Barstow family of Wethersfield, Connecticut, won a free trip to newly-opened Disneyland in Anaheim, California, in a nationwide contest. This 30-minute amateur documentary film tells the fabulous story of their fun-filled, dream-come-true, family travel adventure, filmed on the scene at Walt Disney’s “Magic Kingdom” by Robbins Barstow.
On Sunday, June 22nd, various artists will be on hand in Disneyland to release and sign special 45th anniversary Tiki Room products. These artists include: Dave Avanzino, Kelly Cabatuan, Victor Cabatuan, Brian Crosby, Jim Crouch, Jody Daily, Kevin Kidney, Larry Nikolai, Maggie Parr and George Scribner
One of the best parts of Disney taking ownership of the Disney Stores from the Children’s Place is Annual Passholder discounts in the store. From now until June 30th, you can save 15% off your purchase by showing your Annual Passport.
I’m not sure if this applies to the stores that are currently in the process of closing. I would guess not.
The first time I took my wife to Disneyland and California Adventure, we watched this movie. I learned a ton about wine and wine making that stuck with me since that trip in 2001. I haven’t managed to get back to the vine yard in subsequent trips - never even considered taking the kids into it. Maybe next trip, I’ll make a special effort to see it again.
