Santa’s Reindeer Roundup

The biggest surprise of my recent trip to Disneyland was how fun Santa’s Reindeer Roundup was. The first visit to that section of Frontierland, we only visited the reindeer pen.IMG 4668 This section usually houses the farm animals like billy goats and cows. During the holidays, it houses Santa’s eight reindeers. I took shots of all the reindeer fun facts and we watched as a long line of people waited to see Santa Clause. We happen to be lucky enough to be standing in the right place when Mrs. Clause walked up and the kids got to see her and sit on her lap.

Later when we returned, we went the other side of the ranch where a bunch of tables were set out with crayons on them. IMG 4677
Usually this part of the park is closed off, so this was the first time I’d ever been in this area. The crayons allowed the kids to color reindeer cutouts and christmas coloring pages. They had a small cart loaded with christmas decorations/souvenirs. Guests could also purchase cookie decorating kits and hot chocolate from another cart. While we sat and decorated our $5 cookie with frosting and sprinkles, we were treated to a violin yielding act consisting of jokes, songs and dancing. IMG 4847It was very interactive with the kids sitting by the stage participating. A few characters also roamed around including; Pluto, Clarabelle, Jessie, Chip and Dale. The kids, a 1 year old and 2 three year olds, loved it. Sometimes a magician was out doing magic tricks, and often Mrs. Santa Clause roamed this section of the Ranch.
