Yet another reason to buy the Nintendo Wii

The Seattle Post Intelligence is reporting that Disney will create a game studio based out of Salt Lake City to develop games for the Nintendo family of consoles.

Walt Disney Co., the world’s second-largest media company, is creating a video-game studio to make titles exclusively for Nintendo Co., targeting audiences for its animated characters.

The studio, called Fall Line, will be based in Salt Lake City and run by Scott Novis, who led the team that created the game based on the Pixar film “Cars.” Novis’ designers will build games for the Nintendo Wii console to be released this month and the DS and Game Boy hand-held players.

Traditionally, Disney games have been rushed to market and mostly unappealing. In the last year or so, I think they have turned the corner on quality. This type of commitment will only help.

Sounds promising though fague. It would’ve been better if titles where mentioned. I do see the potential of an Aladdin based game. The controller could be used as a sword, control carpet maybe even make some neck breaking stunts with the character as he fights his away through Agrabah.

I agree about the promise. I’m excited to see some titles. I remember playing Aladdin on the old Sega, it could be done in so much more splendor if done right.
