HalloweenTime

Halloween Lamp Now, we knew that October is generally a great month to visit Disneyland. Great weather, lower volume crowds. But as we booked our recent trip at sort-of-the-last-minute, and Oct. 28th through Oct. 31st was the only Saturday through Tuesday we could get at the hotel, we had some doubts. Would it be too crowded there? Would we miss Halloween at home, trick-or-treating in our neighborhood and answering the door? Would a holiday weekend in Disneyland be WAY too much stimulation for our three-year-old and ten-month-old daughters?

It turned out there was no basis for any of our worries. We had a glorious time. We didn’t miss Halloween at home because we were experiencing something really unique and special in Disneyland. And, since we roomed on the property, our little ones even got a decent nap every day and were in bed only a bit later than their normal bedtimes. I’d return to Disneyland on Halloween weekend in a heartbeat!

Here’s photographic evidence of some of the decorations that Disneyland festoons Main Street with. They call it “HalloweenTime” and it set the stage for some super-fun holiday frivolity. Josh and the family should be getting excited, because if Christmas is celebrated with as much gusto, they’ll have a real blast!

  • Erin, thanks for the awesome post. Believe me, I am excited about Christmas and the decorations. Did you guys get a chance to go through the Haunted Mansion with the Holiday Overlay?
  • Thanks Josh. This is so fun! I have more pictures and topics for future posts, and the Haunted Mansion in holiday mode definitely is one of them. But maybe I should wait until you check it out next month and post your thoughts, first?
I'm still reading through all the past posts. You have so much neat stuff on here. I'm totally loving all the 1975 photos, too...
    Thanks for inviting us!
  • Erin, please don't wait to post on my account. Trust me, I have seen a ton of pictures of the overlay so you won't be spoiling anything for me.
