From YouTube User KohrsFilm: This is a movie I made a long time ago. It’s the same as the Haunted mansion ride at Disneyland. I made the sets out of construction paper and paper bags. I redid the audio because my high little kid voice doing the Ghost Host just sounded stupid.
waltdisneyworlddreams.blogspot.com has a great post with the history, storyline and video of the Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) in Walt Disney World. I’ve heard mixed reviews of the new show featuring more modern characters like Iago from Aladdin and Zazu from Lion King.
Just a note to remind you that today at DoomBuggies.com, you can listen to Kat Cressida (the actress behind the “Black Widow Bride” in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion) tell an authentic story about the mythic history of Disney’s Haunted Mansion as it was told in the halls of WED Enterprises (now known as Imagineering) back in the late ’60s!
This is one of the only recorded histories of a “backstory” for the scenes in Walt Disney’s original Haunted Mansion, as it was told by the designers of the attraction itself. Recorded with cooperation from Disney Imagineers and Walt Disney Records, this 20-minute story is a treat for any fan of Disney history or the Haunted Mansion.
If you miss it on Halloween (or would just like to archive the story for your iPod or digital music library), the file is and will be available as an instant download for 99 cents.
The band Friendship Train plays before some casual lunch diners in Tomorrowland. I couldn’t find much information on the Friendship Train so let me know if you know anything about them.
After receiving a site-wide 20% off coupon code via email this morning, I clicked into Disneyshopping.com and saw they had rolled out a new design of the site. Its very…white! It’s actually a neat idea. They’ve made all the navigation elements very light gray on a white background so when you view a product, the color of that product really pops.
Fireworks display comprised completely of consumer level fireworks (like they sell at road side stands) choreographed to a Haunted Mansion Theme. Display won the Pyrotechnics Guild International competition.
I stopped by Toys ‘R’ Us on Sunday to kill some time with the family. They had a huge display of Little Mermaid merchandise. The display had a huge banner showing a few characters from the movie. Imagine the three photos connected from left to right with Ursula on the left and King Triton on the Right. It was great to see that Little Mermaid is finally going to be back as a major Princess and have the merchandising support. My 3 year old daughter loves the movie and was drooling over the dolls, action figures, play houses, inflatable sleeping backs, books and coloring books.
The StreetRat blog found some Disney Princess Magnets on eBay and scanned them in for use as avatars and wallpaper. As you can see, there pretty nice magnets. Does anyone know where to get them here in the US?
When I was a kid, I had a playschool record player that was all nice and bundled into a plastic case. When I closed the lid and latched it, it was like having a little briefcase. I used to have all sorts of little 45 records that were read-along with books. One of my favorites was Lonesome Ghosts. You would set the record needle at the beginning and every time you heard a chime, you turned the page.
If you have a 30 feet by 30 feet location and like shooting targets, you can buy this Disney shooting gallery for a mere $120,000. They even make some recommendations like changing the 8 track player to a digital soundtrack.
