Cars Meet and Greet in DCA

Disneygeek has some pictures posted from this last weekend of the Cars Meet and Greet in Disney’s California Adventure. I’m not sure how long they are going to have the Cars there but I would love to see them in person - the trip is in December and I am crossing my fingers they will still be there.

I should add that they made actual cars from the characters Lighting McQueen and Tow Mater. I believe in one of the video podcasts that Pixar put out about Cars before the movie was released, they showed the process of turning these characters into cars. If you have a chance, check it out.

[...] I’ve blogged about this before but here is a quick video of Mater and Lightning McQueen at Disneyland’s California Adventure for the character meet and greet. I can’t find anywhere that says if they are still there but I sure hope so. I can’t wait to see them. Hey there Mr. CARS lover. Well i was just going through some pictures to see if i see any pictures of me at disney when i stumbled onto you. I used to work at Disney for seven years and i was the driver for both Mqueen and Tow Mater! No joke! I even took video inside both of them! They are two car chassey’s that are made to the so call it “Disney Scale” ( not real cars) and you only can be about five foot five to just fit inside! Heres the fun part… the driver only has camera acess and cannot visually see out of the car so be mindful and careful for your safety “K”. Anyway i wanted to elaborate on the fact that the CARS will still be there but no driving around. They were supposed to end it at the end of this summer, but you will always get to see them! Anyway if you ever watched the Electrical Parade I drove the dragon Elliot almost every show so if you ever got smoked out by the dragon…IT WAS MMMEEEEE! I quit in April and the only thing i truly miss is the interaction with the guests because i got to wear some neat costumes and when your Disney’d out you don’t feel so stupid. Oh i also got to drive up Art Linclenner in Walt Disney’s car for the 50th anniversary! yes you can see me! My thirty seconds of fame.:) My float that i drove in Parade of Dreams was the Lion King float which is the biggest and hardest for vision but i always got off on challenges and it felt very good to be sooo small and be in charge of sooooo much money and safety. Yup it was fun and i will always have memories and you can reply to me if ya want! will always gossip with ya!

    Kristie,
Thanks for the comment. It must have been fun to be part of some many parades. Thanks for the insight and if you have any pictures or videos you’d like to share, let me know.
