This is an interesting take on the whole Tea Cups ride idea. It’s very similar to Francis’ Ladybug Boogie in Disney’s California Adventure. I hope they don’t make it part of the DCA expansion - the whole new Cars area - as that would be pretty redundant.
“Some of the more interesting aspects of Scott’s presentation detailed their careful selection of those cities in which they perform, and how they tailor the marketing strategy for each location. This can consist of everything from messaging to displays to involvement with the community. For a 2nd-tier city like Tampa, their marketing and advertising budget consists of around 12-15% of gross revenue or roughly $125 - 150,000. Much of this goes to carefully selected ad and banner placements and media buys. Surprisingly, none of this budget goes to online marketing, but that is something Scott admittedly said needs to change.”
Mat Skull has created an scale model of Scrooge’s money bin from the Disney afternoon show, Duck Tales. If you watched that show, your gonna want to check these pics out.
The now poorly named Disney Video Browser has been updated to allow you to browse photos and products as well as videos by tag (keywords).
This is the view when browsing videos. Clicking on the image allows you to view the YouTube video on this site. Clicking on the tag does a new search based on that tag.

The gentleman that plays Buffalo Bill in the show happens to be a blogger. He answered my question that the show is housed in the Gaumont Cinema and is not a restaurant. More importantly, he provided the link to his blog, The Casual Reporter, where you can learn much more about the show and the actors. The blog is fairly new, but it looks like he is going to post some pictures and video from the show. Here’s hoping.
With the fourth installment of Indiana Jones coming out, I went into my NetFlix queue and added the three originals. So last night, the family and I watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. During the movie, my wife asked me which movie the ride in Disneyland was named after. I explained that it has its own story, but couldn’t remember the name of it. So I thought I should blog about the two versions of the ride.
Follow in the footsteps of Dr. Indiana Jones in a harrowing, life-or-death quest for the legendary Fountain of Youth. But beware the Fountain is purported to be guarded by a vengeful, supernatural spirit known as the Crystal Skull!
Prepare yourself for a whip-cracking adventure as you enter the Temple of Peril and find yourself in a runaway wagon speeding through the ancient ruins. Tummy-turning action.
Thrill to the pulse-pounding explosions, crashes, clashes and death-defying stunts of Indiana Jones’ onscreen adventures. Sit behind the director’s chair to participate in this stage spectacular that reveals some of the moviemaking magic responsible for Indy’s triumphs over deadly traps, bad-guy battles and epic-scale obstacles. Posts have been a little sparse this week and last. This has been because I’ve been working on a new site feature - The Disney Video Browser. It allows you to view Disney related videos quickly and easily on this site. You can choose from a few keywords I’ve set up, or enter your own search term. You will then see a list of YouTube videos - specific to Disney - that match your keyword.
Once you select a video, you will be taken to page to play the video.
My favorite feature is on the play page, you will see a list of tags for that video. These are tags that were added by the owner of the video. You can then click on one of those tags and see a new list of videos. You can spend a lot of time browsing videos in this manner.
I have many ideas on where to take this next, but check it out and let me know your thoughts.
"The island resort contains five hotels within walking distance from seven themed areas within the park. If you don’t have children in tow when you visit Japan and you want to visit a man-made island.."
TJ of Disneylandtour.com has done an awesome job with this video - I think it must have taken many hours to put together. This is his first dedicated video of Disney’s California Adventure and shows in detail where and how the $1.1 Billion will be spent.
Before watching this video, I hadn’t fully comprehended the extend of the changes. They will affect most areas of the park in some way or another and will definitely draw more crowds.
I’m most excited for the new Toy Story Mania ride. It should be technically awesome - and spending $1 million on the Mr. Potato Head animatronic is huge.
Mickey Mouse is the most recognizable and beloved American animated idol in the world. Great American Ink has created a video showing the evolution of the famous Mouse – from 1928 through present day.
